New Lenses... Woo Hoo!

Here are my new babies... the lovely Nikkor 17-55mm f2.8 and the equally lovely and lighter 50mm f1.4. I got an upgrade on my flash - the Speedlight SB800 and a new bag and a reflector kit. Feeling very set to go out and work!

Here's some photos I took of my live in model Lasy today with the 17-55. Just such a lovely lens!

Presents for Grandma - the 40 minute shoot

PART 2: THE GUYS

I forgot I hadn't shown you the 2nd half of these photos so here are the boy's shots. These were shots I took of the cousins for their Grandma for her birthday. By the time we teed it all up and picked Lulu up early from school and got there we only had 40 minutes to shoot it in due to the light and the kids were wonderful.

Looking through all of these shots again, there were some pretty funny blooper shots that I'd like to organise and show at some stage so stay tuned for those!

(For the girl's shots check out the entry in June 2008 by the same name. )

Magnolias in my Garden yum!

If you're not sure if you have Magnolias in your garden take a walk through in the next week or so around dusk. If you can smell a bubblegum smell you have Magnolias! I walked past a neighbours house once and discovered the gorgeous wafting scent and have deliberately planted heaps of them in my front garden. We are hoping to make them into hedges. Here's some photos from my potter around the garden.

Chloe

Here's our sometimes very naughty cat Chloe, out and about in our backyard. I was out shooting in the garden and Chloe loves it when we're all outside.

Gotta Love Test Shots!

Two out of three of these shots were just test shots that I took to see what was happening with the light and didn't delete straight away... I kind of knew that there were people walking past or in my shot but it didn't matter and I'm glad they are in them because I think it makes the images more interesting.

These were all taken at Scarborough during a wedding a couple of weeks ago. Gorgeous place to get married overlooking the Glasshouse mountains including Mt Tibrogargen (or Monkey Mountain as we always have called it!)
